La Trobe Student Wins LIV Essay Competition

The Law Institute of Victoria’s Young Lawyers Section has announced the winner of the annual Leading Quill Scholarship. This year, students were asked to answer the question, “If you were Attorney-General for the day what law would you reform and why?”

Zara Lim from La Trobe University took out first prize for her essay Checking in on social media: campaigning for a statutory cause of action for serious invasions of privacy.

Amanda Ly from Monash University won second prize for her paper Statutory right to personal privacy: Giving a real sense of security to Australians in a technological era, and Jacqui Siebel (also from Monash) took home third prize for The Pathway to Better Health.
