Professor Brian Fitzgerald

Queensland University of Technology’s Professor Brian Fitzgerald will join Australian Catholic University next month as Executive Dean of the University’s new Faculty of Law.

Professor Fitzgerald is well placed to guide the formation of Australia’s newest law faculty, having previously served as Head of the School of Law and Justice at Southern Cross University (1998-2002) and Head of the School of Law at Queensland University of Technology (2002-2007). His academic background is primarily in intellectual property and technology law.

He is currently serving as a Commissioner of the Queensland Law Reform Commission.

ACU’s first law students will start at its Melbourne Campus in 2013, and in Sydney the following year.
